How You Can Add a Ton of Volume to Your Straight Hair

When it comes to volume, you’ll want to start with some solid products. A volumizing shampoo can make a huge difference in the appearance of your hair, as can a volumizing mousse or hairspray. Ask your stylist if there are any products they’d recommend for your hair. They should be able to make some good suggestions or you can do your own research online (you’re welcome to check out our other articles! 😉

When choosing your products, make sure that you choose products that are lightweight. Even if a product claims to add volume, it may actually make your hair look flat if it weighs it down too much.

If you have a little extra time to spend drying your hair, try braiding it before you dry it. This will add a lot of volume, and it’ll also give you some great-looking loose waves. For looser waves, make thick braids. For tighter curls, make small braids.

When you are drying your hair, don’t reach for the blow dryer right away. Instead, towel dry your hair as much as you can. That way, you can use less heat when you dry your hair, which will help it to look bouncier. You should always try to use your dryer on the warm setting rather than the hot setting.

Try blow drying your hair with your head upside down. This will add a lot of volume to your roots. Once you’re done drying your hair, comb in back gently. Your hair will have far more volume than it would if you dried it the normal way, and your hair will dry more easily this way too.

Teasing your hair is another easy way to add some volume to it. Purchase a teasing comb and use it to brush the underside of your hair downwards. Once you’ve finished teasing a section of your hair, comb it carefully into place.

Do this piece by piece until you’ve added the appropriate amount of volume. If you tease smaller sections, you’ll get much more volume overall. Once you’re done teasing your hair, you may want to add some hairspray so that your hair will hold onto the volume you’ve added.

Another great way to give your locks body is to curl it. For some people, it can be difficult to get their hair to hold a curl, but for others, this is the simplest way to add volume to their limp locks.

If curling isn’t your thing, you can also add body to your hair with a flat iron. Use it on your hair, getting it as close to the root as you possibly can. This will instantly give you a great deal of lift. It’s a quick and easy way to give your hair some bounce.

You can also add volume with a flat iron by drying your hair upside down. Flip your head upside down, run the flat iron through it, and then flip your hair back again. You’ll be amazed at how much volume this can add at the roots. It’ll give your hair a nice bump.

Unless your hair tends to be extremely oily, you don’t need to wash it every day. Every time you wash your hair, you’re washing away volume too. Try washing your hair every other day instead. You’ll soon find that you have a lot more volume without doing anything special.

As you can see, it’s easy to add tons of volume to straight hair. If you give these tips a dry, you’ll have the bouncy locks you’ve been hoping for. With a little extra effort, anyone can have beautiful, voluminous hair, even if their hair is naturally straight or thin.
